British Influencer Dies After Tragic Fall from One of Spain’s Tallest Bridges

Lewis Stevenson, a 26-year-old British influencer known for his daring stunts, tragically lost his life while attempting to climb the 192-meter-tall Castilla-La Mancha bridge in Spain without safety equipment. The incident has left family, friends, and followers mourning the loss of a man who pushed the limits of adventure in pursuit of breathtaking content.

A Passion for Urban Climbing

Stevenson, passionate about “rooftopping”—a dangerous activity involving climbing tall buildings and structures—had built a significant following on social media, where he shared awe-inspiring photos from heights across cities like New York and London. Posting under the username ‘expedition,’ Stevenson’s content showcased his love for urban exploration and his fearless approach to adventure.

Despite warnings from family members and local authorities, Stevenson pursued his climbing ambitions. According to his grandfather, Clifford Stevenson, the family often tried to dissuade him from taking such risks. “We were always trying to talk him out of doing things, but that was the way he was,” he shared.

The Fatal Climb

On October 13, during a short visit to Spain, Stevenson attempted to scale the Castilla-La Mancha bridge, disregarding official warnings that the area was off-limits. Local authorities, including councillor Macarena Munoz, had repeatedly emphasized the prohibition of climbing the bridge due to safety concerns.

Stevenson, accompanied by a 24-year-old English friend, lost his grip during the climb, resulting in a fatal fall. His body was discovered early the following morning.

Assistant Coroner Sabyta Kaushal, speaking at a Derby Coroner’s Court hearing, confirmed that Stevenson died from blunt force head injuries caused by the fall. The inquest into his death has been adjourned for further investigation, with a final hearing to follow.

Loved Ones Reflect on the Loss

Stevenson’s girlfriend, Savannah Parker, described the tragedy as a “nightmare.” She recounted their final conversation, in which he said, “Good night, I love you,” the night before the fatal incident.

Parker, who had joined Stevenson on some of his previous adventures, recalled a time in Malta when they explored an abandoned building together. “I was so scared of making one wrong move,” she admitted, adding that she participated out of love and admiration for him.

Friends and fellow climbing enthusiasts also paid tribute to Stevenson, remembering him as a fearless and inspiring individual.

One friend, writing under the username Louie_W1, described Stevenson as “the bravest, most caring, and funny person” he had ever met. Another, Vil1iany, shared how Stevenson had introduced him to a new perspective on freedom and creativity. “Your fearless mentality will stick with me for the rest of my life,” he wrote.

A Risky Pursuit with Devastating Consequences

Stevenson’s decision to climb the bridge was reportedly motivated by a desire to create compelling content for his followers. While his daring stunts earned him admiration online, his tragic fall highlights the inherent dangers of such pursuits.

Local authorities continue to stress the importance of adhering to safety regulations, especially in prohibited areas like the Castilla-La Mancha bridge.

As the investigation into Stevenson’s death continues, his family, friends, and fans are left grappling with the loss of a man who lived boldly, even at great personal risk.
