Father Searching for Missing Daughter Tragically Found Dead in Los Angeles

The heartbreaking search for 30-year-old Hannah Kobayashi took a devastating turn when her father, Ryan Kobayashi, was found deceased in Los Angeles. Just weeks earlier, Ryan had been tirelessly distributing flyers and speaking publicly about his determination to find his daughter, who has been missing since November 8.

The Disappearance of Hannah Kobayashi

Hannah, an aspiring photographer from Maui, was last seen at Los Angeles International Airport (LAX) after missing her connecting flight to New York City, where she was supposed to meet her family. Before leaving the airport, she reportedly texted a friend, mentioning she had experienced a “spiritual awakening” and decided to explore Los Angeles.

She was later seen with an unidentified man and, on November 11, sent alarming messages to her family, claiming someone was attempting to steal her identity. That same night, she was captured on CCTV boarding the Metro at Pico Station, about 10 miles from LAX. Since then, there has been no further contact.

A Father’s Desperate Search

Ryan flew to Los Angeles to search for his daughter, speaking with media outlets and handing out missing person flyers. In an interview just days before his death, the 58-year-old expressed his unwavering determination:
“We will do everything we can until we have found her. We just need to get the word out there about her. She’s a wonderful person who brings joy to so many people.”

On November 24, however, Los Angeles Police Department confirmed Ryan’s tragic passing in what is believed to be an apparent suicide.

A Family’s Plea for Help

The RAD Movement, a nonprofit organization assisting the Kobayashi family, released a heartfelt statement urging the public to stay focused on the ongoing search for Hannah:
“Hannah is still actively missing and is believed to be in imminent danger. It is crucial for everyone to remain vigilant in their efforts to locate her.”

The statement also acknowledged the profound grief the family is enduring following Ryan’s death, describing him as the “pillar” of their family:
“The family now faces the additional burden of grieving this significant loss while continuing the search for Hannah. What they need most during this difficult time is support, compassion, and prayers from the community.”

A Call for Vigilance

The family has asked the public to respect their privacy and refrain from contacting them directly. Instead, they urge anyone with information about Hannah’s whereabouts to call 911 immediately or contact their dedicated tip line at (619) 904-0840.

Hannah was last seen wearing a tie-dye sweatshirt, black leggings, and carrying a green backpack. If spotted, authorities advise taking a photograph and keeping her in sight until law enforcement arrives.

A Message of Support

The statement also encouraged those struggling with mental health challenges to seek help, emphasizing the importance of the 988 Suicide and Crisis Lifeline for anyone experiencing suicidal thoughts.

Hannah’s family remains hopeful that she will be found, even as they navigate the immense pain of losing Ryan. The community’s continued support and vigilance are critical in ensuring her safe return.
