Researchers at Melbourne University conducted a study which showed that based on our personalities, we not only view the world, but also create our own perceptions about reality.
The study focused on 5 personality categories, including agreeableness, extroversion, neuroticism, openness to experiences and conscientiousness. The results showed that people who are open-minded are more creative than close-minded people, which helps open-minded people create maps in their heads by connecting two or more pictures together. It means that such people are open to other people’s opinions and ideas and can create a whole new perspective based on them.
Open-mindedness is a wonderful quality, which helps such people see the world in elaborate and new ways. It allows them to access higher levels of knowledge, experiences and thinking processes. The research concluded that open-minded people are able to see reality quite differently than other people can.
