Marina Smith, a 34-year-old influencer from São Paulo, Brazil, has shared her frustration over being left out of her friends’ annual Christmas dinner, claiming it’s because she’s considered “too hot.”
According to Marina, her friends are worried she might “tempt” their partners during the festive gathering, a concern that she feels is both unfair and unfounded.
Learning About the Exclusion
Marina first discovered she had been excluded when a friend’s boyfriend mentioned the event and revealed she had been deliberately left out of the group chat organizing the dinner.
In an interview with MailOnline, Marina, who was previously crowned Miss BumBum, said: “I’ve been banned from Christmas dinner because the women think I’ll steal their men. They’re worried I might tempt their husbands and boyfriends.”
Single and Selective
Having been single since early 2024 after ending a relationship over financial disagreements, Marina explained that while being single has its challenges, she is not desperate to find a partner.
“I’m very selective about the men I get involved with,” Marina clarified. “I’m not in a rush, and I’m not a needy woman.”
However, the exclusion from the celebration has left her feeling betrayed by her friends.
“Being single already limits my outings and trips with friends because they go out with their partners now,” she said. “But now, me being single and beautiful is an insecurity for them!”
Accusations of Jealousy
Marina expressed frustration at the assumptions her friends are making about her intentions.
“I always respect other people’s relationships. I’ve never made advances toward their partners. I think it’s jealousy on their part,” she said.
She plans to address her friends about the situation but insists she no longer wants to be included in their plans.
“I hope they don’t change their minds and invite me because the answer is no!” she declared. “At this point, I’d rather spend Christmas alone at home. Yes, I’m a beautiful woman, but that’s not a reason to leave me out.”
Discovering True Friendships
The drama has led Marina to reflect on the quality of her friendships, revealing that the situation has shown her who her true friends are.
“The problem isn’t with me. It’s with the men who think I am ‘too beautiful to be real,’” she said, defending her choice of outfits and makeup, which she believes have also been a point of contention.
Although hurt by the exclusion, Marina is choosing to focus on spending the holidays her way, free from unnecessary drama.
“For now, I’m content celebrating on my own terms,” she concluded.
