World’s Tallest and Shortest Women Share Afternoon Tea in London

In a remarkable gathering celebrating the 20th annual Guinness World Records Day, the world’s tallest woman, Rumeysa Gelgi, and the world’s shortest woman, Jyoti Amge, met for the first time over afternoon tea at London’s Savoy Hotel.

Rumeysa Gelgi, a 27-year-old web developer from Turkey, stands at an impressive 7 feet 1 inch (215.16 cm). Her exceptional height is attributed to Weaver syndrome, a rare genetic condition characterized by rapid growth and other physical abnormalities. Despite the challenges associated with her condition, Gelgi has embraced her uniqueness and uses her platform to raise awareness about rare diseases.

Jyoti Amge, a 30-year-old actress from India, measures just 2 feet 1 inch (62.8 cm) tall. She holds the Guinness World Record for being the shortest living woman, a result of achondroplasia, a form of dwarfism that affects bone growth. Amge has gained international recognition for her role in the television series “American Horror Story.”

During their meeting, the two women discovered shared interests, including a passion for makeup, self-care, and nail art. Gelgi expressed her delight, stating, “It was so amazing meeting Jyoti for the first time. We do have things in common; we both love makeup, self-care, and doing our nails.”
