What Word Salad Is, and How This Archive Works
Word Salad is a letter-pool word game from Bloop Games. Each board hands you a scrambled block of letters — a "salad" — and asks you to pull out every hidden word that fits the board's theme. Unlike a crossword you get no clues at all: the theme is the only hint, so if the category is Gemstones then every answer is a gemstone, and the puzzle becomes a test of vocabulary and pattern-spotting rather than deduction. Boards can hide anything from four to a dozen answers, and the longest entries are usually the ones that unlock the rest of the grid.
The game splits into three separate modes, and this archive covers all of them. Category levels are the main campaign: 1,340 fixed boards grouped into 23 subjects such as Fruit, Mammals, US States and NBA Teams. Because they never change, a level number always means the same board for every player, which is what makes a written answer list useful. Daily puzzles rotate: one themed board per day, the same for everyone, archived here back to March 1, 2024 — 918 of them so far. Number Salad is the arithmetic spin-off, where you combine numbered tiles to hit a run of targets; there are 593 of those archived with full worked solutions.
Every page here is built from the puzzle data itself rather than typed by hand, so the counts on this page are what is actually on file: 8,388 category answers, averaging 6 per board, with Goldenknights the longest single answer in the game at 13 letters. If you are hunting one specific board, jump straight to its category and pick the level number; if you are stuck on today's puzzle, the daily archive is ordered newest first. Everything is free to read and there is no account to create.

How we verify every Word Salad board
Nothing on this site is typed from memory. Every answer list is generated from the game's own level and daily files, then checked against the letter pool that board actually gives you, so a listed word can never use a tile the board does not hold. A nightly rebuild re-reads all 1,340 category levels and picks up each new daily the day it runs, and level numbering is confirmed sequential before an index publishes — a gap is reported as a gap rather than quietly skipped.

Tips for Tricky Word Salad Boards
Read the theme first
The category is the only clue you get, so let it narrow the field before you look at letters. On a European Capitals board there is no point testing ordinary nouns — every answer is a city.
Chase the longest word
Long answers eat the awkward letters. Clearing one 13-letter entry like Goldenknights usually leaves a pool of common letters that resolve almost on their own.
Work the letter pool, not the screen
Count what you have. Two of the same vowel, or a lone Q or Z, tells you a great deal about which themed answers can possibly fit before you swipe anything.

How to Solve a Word Salad Board
Three moves that clear a Word Salad board, in the order worth making them.
Read every category name first
The category names are the whole clue. Reading all of them before you move a single word tells you which groups are narrow and which are broad, and the narrow one is always the cheapest place to start.
Place the words only one group can take
Some words fit two categories on sight and some fit exactly one. Placing the unambiguous ones first shrinks the pool for everything else, which is what turns a stuck board into a solved one.
A full category is a finished category
Once a group has all its slots filled, nothing else belongs in it — and every word you have left belongs somewhere else. Working by elimination beats re-reading the same word against the same category.
